Argue with your thesis
before the market does.

Test my thesis: Microsoft's AI spending pays back.

  • Capex jumped to $115.9B from $64.6BCuts against your view
  • What the new AI capacity earns on its own isn't disclosedThe record cannot say
  • Depreciation, now $34.3B from $22.0B, keeps rising even if demand slowsThe unwritten worst case

Bob argues from the same filings Ana reads. What he concludes is his reasoned opinion, labelled as opinion — never presented as verified fact.

The shape of a Bob session on Microsoft's FY2026 10-K: each point is tied to the filing, and his conclusions are labelled as his opinion.

A sparring partner, not an oracle.

He argues from the record.

Bob reads the same filings Ana does. Every point he makes is tied to evidence from the record, and figures he quotes are checked against it — he doesn't argue from headlines or from memory.

  • Same filings as Ana
  • Figures checked
  • Sources attached

Four things, every time.

What supports your view, what cuts against it, what the record cannot say yet, and the worst case you haven't written down. Ask about a company with no thesis and he gives both sides as his own read instead.

  • Supports
  • Cuts against
  • Can't say
  • Unwritten worst case

Opinion, labelled as opinion.

What Bob concludes is reasoned opinion and is always marked that way — never presented as verified fact, and never a buy or sell call. He ends by asking you a question back, because the point is to sharpen your thinking, not replace it.

  • Clearly marked
  • No buy/sell calls
  • Asks back

FAQ

Common questions.

How is Bob different from Ana?

Ana is the analyst: she answers from the filed record, cites every figure and refuses what she can't ground. Bob is the sceptic: he reasons about what the record means for your thesis and argues the side you're not taking. Ana's answers are facts; Bob's conclusions are opinion, labelled as such.

Which plans include Bob?

Pro and Enterprise. Every free trial includes him too, so you can see how he argues before deciding — after the trial he stays with Pro.

Is Bob giving investment advice?

No. He argues about evidence and reasoning; he doesn't recommend buying, selling or holding, and doesn't predict prices. His conclusions are always labelled as opinion. For research only; not investment advice.

Where does my thesis come from?

From your research memory: the thesis and notes you've written on the company in AnalystBook. Bob argues against what you've actually written, not a guess at your view.
