STMicroelectronics is a Dutch-incorporated semiconductor maker formed in 1987 from the chip businesses of Italy's SGS Microelettronica and France's Thomson Semiconducteurs. It designs and makes analog, power, sensor, microcontroller and RF chips in its own fabs for four end markets: automotive, industrial, personal electronics, and communications equipment, computers and peripherals. It serves more than 200,000 customers; Apple, its largest, took 17.7% of 2025 net revenues.
