Business

Nucor is North America's largest recycler and its most diversified steel producer, melting scrap in electric arc furnaces to make sheet, bar, structural and plate steel, then turning a fifth of that steel into joists, deck, tubing, rebar, metal buildings, racking and doors. Its own scrap brokerage and direct reduced iron plants feed the mills. Nonresidential construction is the largest end market, and a pay-for-performance system lets labor costs fall with production.
